John started programming in Pascal, then gave it up. Then he became a ColdFusion programmer, where he was active in the community for quite a while. When Macromedia released Flex 1.0, John knew that the rich user experience was where he wanted to be. After doing a little work in 1.0-1.5, he went back to ColdFusion, until the Flex 2 Beta's started. From that point on John has been developing Flex applications of all types and sizes. The release of AIR 1.0 allowed John to move his RIA development to the desktop for certain applications.
John, with his business partner Tom Ortega (and the support of his wife Nicole), founded 360Conferences in 2007, organizing 360|Flex, the premiere Flex/ActionScript conference in the world. They've hosted events around the country and in Europe, helping build and expand the Flex developer community.
John has one dog.
